iDay
Birthdays straight from your contacts, a reminder at the time you choose, star signs, horoscopes and the moon phase – plus a birthday card by email or WhatsApp. In the App Store since 2009, now completely rebuilt.
I build apps for iPhone, iPad and Android – large type, clear colours, no ads and no tracking. And custom software for companies since 1989.
Each app does one thing properly. The data stays on the device, or is end-to-end encrypted when several people share it.

One shopping list for the whole family. What one person writes down, everyone sees at once – on the phone, Apple Watch, Wear OS and Garmin watches.
Appointments, notes, arrangements: all in one place, visible to everyone and end-to-end encrypted.
Ten large tiles with a picture and a name: tap, call. For everyone who finds the address book too fiddly.
Birthdays, anniversaries, days to remember – whatever comes next stands large and clear on the screen.
Several bakes in one day, each with its own sequence of dough, proving and oven: BackPlaner adds the times up for you.
Machine, weight, sets – tap instead of scribble. The data stays on the phone.
Guided Yoga Nidra sessions of various lengths that lead into deep relaxation – in German, English and Spanish.
Exercise programmes for the back. Apple picked the iPad edition RückenDocHD in its iTunes Rewind as one of the five best health apps for iPad.
Recommended by the ZDF WISO team: weight, measurements and progress in one place.
Record your own weight history and let exactly that keep you going.
A reference work on food additives and ingredients – explained in plain words instead of E numbers.
Record the season, understand the phase and work out when the next one is due. Soundly based, and all data stays on the device.
The app for life with a dog: walks, habits and everything else that goes with it.
One key, one position, the matching fingering: 311 exercises for working through the fretboard systematically.
All apps on the App Store and on Google Play.
From the first idea to the app in the store – or bringing an application that has served you well for years up to date.
Turnkey, native or with shared code in .NET MAUI – including store listing, subscriptions and maintenance.
Moving proven apps to current platforms without losing data or customers – as iDay went from Objective-C to .NET MAUI.
Custom programs for a range of industries, written to order for over 30 years – from the desktop to the server.
Interfaces, databases and web applications – including a secure backend for your app with end-to-end encryption.
I have worked as a freelance developer since 1989. Some of my apps appeared in 2008 when Apple's App Store opened – and are still maintained today.
What matters to me is software that works without detours: clear controls, honest prices, no advertising and no passing on of data. That holds for my own apps as much as for work done to order.
Do you have an idea for an app, or an application that needs bringing up to date? I look forward to hearing from you.
